AMS’s test pipe is made of 3” diameter 304 stainless with stainless flanges. When we last left off with Project Evo X we had tested the K&N Tsunami Intake and Greddy RS exhaust with good results.

2010 and later models will require a custom ECU tune for safe operation when using this intake pipe. Failing to do so can cause issues or damage to your engine. The ETS Evolution X High Flow Cat Test Pipe is a direct replacement of the factory catalytic pipe. This has been dyno tested for a 10-15whp increase over the factory catalytic pipe.

Although we registered great gains with just this, we did have to retard the timing above 6000 rpm by another two degrees to avoid knock. With no tuning at all, a Evo X with an intake, exhaust and downpipe will detonate pretty badly. To avoid cat damage while tuning and for our later anticipated track use, we got this test pipe from AMS. The pipe fits perfectly and has a provision for an extra 02 sensor bung for tuning as well as the rear secondary OBDII O2 sensor.

The AMS 3" Stainless Steel Resonated Test Pipe provides an excellent alternative to running a catalytic converter on the street or at the track.
